Our Projects

Carrick’s Street Reds

A partnership with Manchester United Foundation that offers free football sessions to young people with the opportunity to learn new skills and work towards qualifications in a supportive and safe environment. This project, delivered at Old Trafford Sports Barn, provides a much needed opportunity for children to engage in positive activities, meet and mix with new people and learn important social skills that will help them later in life. The project launched in April 2018 and funding has been committed for the next three years.

Carrick’s Kicks

A partnership with Newcastle United Foundation providing free football sessions to young people aged 8 – 19 in North Shields and Byker whilst also providing opportunities to learn leadership skills and complete qualifications that will support them in their future endeavours. The programme engages young people in constructive activities, increases playing and coaching opportunities, breaks down barriers between the police and young people and aims to reduce crime and anti-social behaviour in the local areas. This project will begin in August 2018 and funding has been committed for a period of three years.

Carrick’s Boot Room

This project aims to encourage anyone with unwanted boots to recycle them by giving them to us and letting us pass them on to someone who needs them. Children's feet grow quickly needing new astro trainers or boots every 6 months, well before they are worn out. The aim is to ensure that children from deprived areas can participate in football and not be discouraged by the lack of equipment. These shoes will be given out to children across Greater Manchester who are participating in community football sessions. We will facilitate this through local delivery partners such as the Manchester United Foundation, Newcastle United Foundation and local grassroots clubs. Drop your boots off to any official drop off point - these can be found at Trafford Leisure Centres, Manchester Leisure Centres, Box Football and ITV's Orange Tower.
